What's New This Month At Confer Plastics

CONFER PLASTICS IS EXPANDING

Confer Plastics, Inc. is expanding at its North Tonawanda factory. The company is purchasing a blow-molding machine that will be installed and operating in March.

The machine, purchased from Timberline Machinery, is a dual-head 20-pound machine. This is the first dual-head machine that Confer has ever purchased and it will add to Confer’s distinct large-part capabilities. The company currently has fourteen molding machines and can make parts weighing nearly 75 pounds.

Says vice-president Bob Confer, “the efficiencies afforded by this machine are great. With a dual-head set-up like this we can run two different molds in one machine, each one making a sizable product. In the very-competitive fuel tank and leisure product markets a machine like this is a must-have.”

OUR PRODUCTS ARE 100% MADE IN THE USA

With all the bad things that have happened this past year in foreign trade you can rest assured you won’t be getting any hazardous Chinese products from Confer Plastics. All of our products are proudly made in the USA, right in our North Tonawanda facility. Always have been. Always will.

We don’t believe in outsourcing. Instead, we choose to rely on good old-fashioned American ingenuity and work ethic, keeping Americans employed and giving their families a quality standard of living.

INTRODUCING OUR NEW SWIM SPA STEPS

At the Northeast Region Pool & Spa Show in January we introduced a new, exciting product line. Our Signature Spa Steps are impressive 3-or-4-tread steps for swim spas. Featuring handrails with a drink holder and towel bar, these steps can also be used for standard spas and are perfect for older folks to use to get in and out of their spa. For information visit the “spa essentials” page in the Leisure Accents section of our website.

NEW FOR 2008: THE SIG POOL ENTRY SYSTEM

With building codes across the US changing the way people access their swimming pools, we’ve answered the call of concerned pool dealers and have introduced our new SIG system. This combines a (S)tep, (I)npool ladder, and (G)ate to make an impressive and affordable entry system for pools that features a means of enclosure, limiting unsupervised access to the pool. For information, visit the pool ladders & steps section of our website.

CPI STARTS NEW YORK STATE PLASTICS COALTION

Bob Confer spearheaded the formation of the New York State Plastics Coalition, a brother/sisterhood of those involved in the plastics industry of New York State: manufacturers, mold makers, resin sales, auxiliary equipment firms. The group met for the first time in January and will meet quarterly for the goals of networking, education, and a common voice.

They next meet Friday, April 25th at 8:30 AM at Confer Plastics. It will be “government day” where the manufacturers can ask questions of and share their concerns with state and federal officials. So far, Senator George Maziarz, Assemblyman Jim Hayes, and Christina Orsi of Empire State Development have verified their attendance.

If you are a plastics professional who’d like to participate, contact Bob at bob@conferplastics.com
